Richard Seale, his father, was a member of the Stationers Company, suggesting that printing and engraving must have been a family trade. Nevertheless, he was not taught by his father, but was apprenticed to Samuel Parker of Clerkenwell in 1719. Seale was quite active as an engraver and publisher from about 1740 until his death in 1762. Condition: Very good, given age. Original folds, as issued. Three dampstains in the right margin and right image edge. A small tear in the right edge of the top fold (extending minimally into image area). Lower margin soiled. Creasing in the lower edge of the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
