Description: WELCOME to my ebay store: I recently purchased a box lot of Antique DOLL CLOTHES but was stunned to find several Antique ADULT sized hats in the box, NOT doll hats! The items were amazing, all circa 1890 to 1940. There was a man's Bowler hat, a womans large black Victorian hat with ostrich feather plume, a 1920s women's cloche with sequins and THIS lovely hat. Check my shop as I will add the others soon. What a marvelous find! The hat is a sheer type of fabric that I believe is a type of milinery fabric known as horsehair or crinoline but it has embroidered swirls of velvety trim on it. Just gorgeous, and in a lovely red that has just slightly faded to a wonderful shade, and the underneath foundation gives it an almost peachy look. Adorned with ribbon trim. SEE all photos, it is really marvelous. I also took some selfies to show it on, and had my daughter model it. We both have 'average' sized heads.I'm really sorry I didn't get it in time to list for sale for the Kentucky Derby because THIS HAT would have been smashing for a buyer to have worn at that event. BUT it is a great tea time hat, ladies event hat, you name it. For those with a love of other era fashions it is a super accessory. These wonderful items survived in an Iowa trunk for many years and are getting scarce to find in such good condition. See photos for measurement of interior.
