Description: Crafted by the Star China Company who later became Paragon China to commemorate the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary on June 22nd, 1911.The cup features portraits of both king and queen in monochrome black which lie in a bed of flowers including roses, thistles, daffodils and shamrocks to symbolise the four Home Nations. The Union Jack and the Royal Standard stand either side whilst a Royal Coat of Arms soars above. A scroll below reads “crowned June 22nd 1911” whilst “King George V born June 3rd 1865” and “Queen Mary born May 26th 1867” sit under their respective portraits. The phrase “married July 6th 1893” also features.On a separate panel, the Union Jack and Royal Standard appear again alongside a maple leaf. A scroll below reads “may their reign be glorious”.Both the rim and handle are highlighted in gilt gold.The cup measures 2.75" tall and 3 1/2" across (including the handle).
