Description: For your consideration is a very rare authentic JOEL HELFT antique set of three. This set consists of a cigarette case, a ladies vanity compact and a Dunhill lighter. The set is in remarkably good vintage condition. This set has all three items with a carved jadeite set on the black enameled case. It is silver with gold plating on the inside. The items are fully hallmarked with Joel Helft Paris and a makers mark which looks like MR. They were made in the 1930's. It is natural jadeite on the enameled silver box. The cigarette case measures 3 3/16" x 2 1/2" and weighs 2.905 ounce. The round carved jadeite measures 1 inch diameter. There is some slight tarnishing along the inside edge and some faint scratches. You push the small bar in the front and the hinged top opens beautifully. The vanity compact measures 1 13/16" wide by 2 1/4" long by 1/2" high and weighs 3.00 ounce. The round carved jadeite measures 1 inch diameter. It is stamped Joel Helft Paris 4569 . There are two compartments, one with a holder for lipstick but no lipstick. The other compartment has a hinged cover and is for powder. The original powder puff is there but no powder. This compact has a broken mirror and it is a little difficult to open as I have to push on the bar a few times. I am sure someone can adjust that. The lighter says Dunhill and measures 1 1/2" wide x 1 1/4" high x 1/2" deep. and weighs 1.275 ounce. The carved jade rectangle measures 10/16" wide by 5/16" high. This lighter is stamped on the bottom "Le Brique Dunhill" with a hallmark. It says Pat. 143752 FAB.Suisse and has MR makers mark. This set is very sleek and glamorous art deco style from the Great Gatsby era. This elegant set will make a great addition to your collection.
