Description: Rare antique handmade Japanese sake bottle with clear glaze over a tall brown bottle. The sake shop name is written in white slip which reads “Tanigaki Saketen” (Tanigaki Sake Shop). This looks to be from the second half of the 19th century (1850-1900). It would make a handsome base for a lamp. Japanese folk Art tradition — Shoji Hamada, Bernard Leach. The condition is as shown — small chips in the slip applied writing on the bottle. — Please refer to photographs. The bottle is 7 1/2” in diameter & 12 1/2” in height.
