Description: Here's a completely original wooden needle case, with hand painted decoration and bone accents. Judging from the clothing and style of the figures, it's from sometime in the 1700s. The man on his knees with a fishing pole, appears to be pulling up a red heart. The woman is holding a red rose. Made by a sailor for his sweetheart? Piece measures 6" tall and is 7/8" in diameter. Condition is good, but there is a crack in the top part. Please see it in the pictures. A really sweet piece that speaks to the time it was made. Thanks for looking.
