" Flight to Egypt,"portraying Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus on their journey. It was inspired by a Romanian folk icon. The Flight to Egypt is a Bible story about the Holy Family's escape from Herod the Great to Egypt for safety. The dream Joseph had a dream in which an angel told him to flee to Egypt with Mary and Jesus because Herod was looking to kill the child. The painting is set in the original bronze frame with relief decoration. It is an easel frame. The enamel painting concave, with hardly visible scratches and 2 small spots with restoration of enamel on the upper right side ( See 2 last pictures) Overall the painting in good antique conditions considering the age and fragile material.
