Description: Antique Bronze cigar table lighter, made in Germany in late 1800's or early 1900's, with Germany marked under the tail. In the form of a rooster, about 3.5 in. tall, with very elaborate and detailed design. Originally there was a chain that held the cap on the end but these are missing. It is in very good antique condition, some patina, and a bit worn on the underside where it would have been held to light a cigar (last pic). Also possibly another word etched on underside, but I cannot read it Cigar smoking was very popular during this time period, especially by the wealthy and many beautiful items were created for this hobby. A really great addition to any collection, especially tobacciana. bc
