Description: Antique English Shagreen Etui, Drafting Tools Kit, Architect or Cartography Necessaire. c.1780-1830, with drafting took inside, a large hinged instrument for drawing, charting. Etui with silver trim, working hinge and pushbutton, very good condition throughout. Shagreen is the leather from stingray. Measurements noted in our photos. Very good to excellent condition, the case is remarkably well preserved for age and type, and the took within is ready for insertion of a pencil or graphite stick, can be used. Hinge is operating smoothly. Just the single largish tool in this etui. We have others also listing this week (sold separately) as I begin to close out my own collections. The clasp fits perfectly tight, and there is no loss nor tears, holes in the old stingray leather outer case. Photos tell all.
