Description: Antique French ormulu/dore oval trinket box from the late nineteenth century measuring approx. four and a half inches by three and a quarter inches. The lid, decorated with garland and flower motif, has a gorgeous, signed, hand painted miniature portrait of a society beauty by the well known French painter Derval. The interior of the box is lined with green velvet. The lining separates from the lid but can be easily glued. The hinge is in good working order and the box can be easily opened and closed.
