Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Large Antique Framed Hand Tinted Photograph ‘End of the Trail’ by James Earle Fraser, c. 1920 We are pleased to offer for your consideration this large antique photograph of James Earle Fraser’s iconic ‘End of the Trail’ sculpture. This antique photograph features the sculpture superimposed with a sky filled with clouds in sunset. This hand tinted photograph is framed in a period gesso frame under its original wavy glass. It was marketed by the Picture Department at Breuner’s, most likely in Sacramento, California where we acquired it. The Breuner’s green paper label is still attached on the backside. We believe it was marketed either during or sometime after the Fraser sculpture was exhibited in the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exhibition in San Francisco, California. We have not examined the photograph outside of its frame. Overall, the photograph appears to be in very good condition with the exception of some moisture stains noted at the top right corner area (see detail photograph). It has a moisture stain in the same area that we noted on the backside of the frame. This is a great photograph of one of America’s most iconic sculptures by Fraser and would make a superb addition to any collection of antique photography. Please take the time to carefully examine all the photographs for more details. Contact seller if you have any questions or if you require additional photographs for inspection. Measurements: The frame measures approximately 18-1/4” in length x 15-1/4” in height x 2” deep. The photograph image measures approximately 14” x 11”. The framed photograph weighs approximately 3 lbs, 14 ounces. All measurements are approximate, but close. Condition: We carefully examined this item. Please note that we have not examined this photograph outside of its frame. The gesso frame is in good condition with some bumps, nicks, corner cracks, stains, missing spots of color and other minor issues as shown in our photos. The paper backing has deteriorated over the years, but pieces are still attached on the backside. The cord attached on the back is long enough to hang on a picture molding, should you have one in your home. The photograph has moisture stains on the top right as seen in our photos. This moisture stain is also on the surface of the glass in the area of the stain. Please take the time to carefully examine all the photographs for more details.
