At a height of 20 inches, this porcelain shoulder-head doll proudly stands tall with flat-top forward-combed sculpted blonde hair on top, surrounded by short graduated length curls on the sides. She has painted detailed blue eyes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, and a closed coral mouth set into a pleasant expression. Her cheeks are nicely blushed with pale pink, and her features are well-defined. Her hand-stitched-jointed shapely torso has black kid boots, lovely kid arms and pretty bric-a-brac outlining the upper part of her bright red body. The kid has some losses, but the body is completely intact.The middle section of her legs are faded blue. The rest of her body is made of white fabric. Red, white and blue! Do you wonder if this German shoulder-head was sent to America; and if her cottage-industry body-maker was sewing this doll while celebrating the United States Centennial in 1876?Perhaps this explains why this doll's very unusual body is made of patriotic fabric in red white and blue!I have never seen another body like this, have you?
