Weavers: Traditionally, these rugs were woven by Armenian, Azeri, and Kurdish tribes.Weaving Technique: The rugs typically feature a coarse weave with a high pile, making them exceptionally durable.Knot Type: They are often woven using the Turkish (or symmetrical) knot, which contributes to their robustness.Vibrant Palette: Kazak rugs are known for their vivid colors, including deep reds, blues, greens, and yellows.Natural Dyes: The use of natural dyes results in a rich, varied palette that ages beautifully over time.Geometric Motifs: Common motifs include large medallions, crosses, diamonds, and stars. These geometric patterns are bold and often symmetrical.Symbolism: Many of the patterns and symbols used in Kazak rugs have cultural and historical significance, often reflecting tribal identities and beliefs.Borders: They typically feature multiple borders with intricate detailing, which frames the central field of the rug.Professional Repair: If restoration is needed, it should be done by professionals specializing in antique rugs to preserve the rug's integrity and value.Antique Kazak rugs are not just functional pieces but are also works of art that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Caucasus region.
