Description: Antique Browning Rotating Sprinkler Brass Cast Here is a fun auction. When my items are offered I usually have done all my research and have an excellent description full of facts and little known aspects of the piece. I like lawn sprinklers a lot for their character and unique engineering. This one is different. Its a conventional three arm rotating style but was made by Browning in LA or Mesa CA. I have researched this every way I know how and have learned little nor have I ever seen another Browning sprinkler. There was a Browning company from the early 1900s in California that made metal pulley systems. (Later sucked up by Emerson) Browning Arms were in UT but did brand several contracted items under their name that could have been manufactured anywhere. I’m actually hoping this sale might bring me some information on it. The address below is for this sprinkler in action. You’ll need to cut and paste it. https://youtube.com/shorts/KLKUAoWeo5o?si=Z73wnQbfoU-GoCle Condition is good for a yard item of this age. Upper is brass, lower base could be steel or zinc. Works and rotates. Had been painted 142 times over its life. The original color is as it is now. A friend mixes paint so I had him create the right color and I sprayed it. Not a 100 point restoration. Just a paint job. Arms are set at a low angle. Does a 30x30 area. One arm at the tip is either leaking a bit or its a one arm pusher designed to induce the spin. Works pretty evenly. Never seen another, but I’m hoping you have. Either way, thanks for looking and hope you enjoyed the item.
