Description: In the 1920's, there were lots of costume parties, not necessarily just for Halloween. They had masked balls at New Years, For Halloween, and for just about any time. In these parties, noisemakers were a big part of the celebration. This whistle was small enough that it could be carried by a lady in her purse. It is a lovely geometric Art Deco design, although there is less than more of the design left. It is rubbed, and the tin shows extensively. It has great patina - this is the aged look things get over time. It is important - it is one of the ways that you know you are buying an antique! This little piece displays really well, and its quite unusual, and fun. The whistle is fairly soft, not loud. Just perfect for a young lady!
