Antique 19th Century Sorrento Ware Stamp Box Children Dancing c.1900

Description: A piece of early Sorrento Ware, this stamp box has an inlaid design on the lid of two children dancing barefoot. Inside it is divided into 2 equal, sloping compartments for postage stamps. The lid has two small metal hinges with original screws. It measures 6cm x 6cm x 2.5cm high. The box is in very good condition with any wear in keeping with age and use; there is a historic repair to the front edge, but is free of splits and there is no loss to the inlay.
