Description: Antique 18ct Gold & Platinum Ring W/ Natural 0.25ct Diamonds - Size L 1/2 -1890s. Solid 18ct yellow gold with platinum. Hallmarked “18ct” The ring is in very good condition for its age. It has minimal wear and some finer scratches. The ring style is a three stone solitaire. This ring is Australian made, handmade and it is estimated to date to around the mid to late 1890s. The main and secondary stones are all natural white diamonds. Each stone has been tested and they were all confirmed to be natural and free from any colour enhancements. The diamonds are all old European cut diamonds. They are flawed with their cuts so they are definitely cut by hand. There is a total estimated carat weight of 0.25cts. None of the stones are chipped or loose in their settings. None of the settings are showing any wear to them. The gold purity of this ring has been tested and it was confirmed to be solid 18ct yellow gold. (75.0% purity) The platinum was found to be around 800. Purity, common for settings of this period. The ring has not been resized. It has had its sides shaved down which was a common modification during the 1950s. This was done to help make the ring fit when it was worn alongside other rings. The ring is comfortable to wear. None of the cathedral setting is damaged or broken. Can be worn as is. The ring has an inside diameter of 16.5mm. An Australian size L 1/2. Ring band width is 1.2mm. Ring band thickness is also 1.2mm. The face of this ring is 4.3mm in width and it sits at a maximum height of 4.8mm. In perfectly wearable condition. Will be posted with a ring box.
