After his death in 1910, the collection was donated to local institutions where it has sat for the last 100+ years. The collection covers many styles of works over numerous centuries so be sure to check back regularly for new listings. This listing is for a fine 1820 proof mezzotint engraving of well known English abolitionist William Wilberforce. The engraving was done by William Say after a painting by Joseph Slater . It appears to be a full sheet measuring about 19” x 13.5” . There is some toning and spots of foxing as can be seen in the photos . There is also one thin spot in the paper in the bottom margin.
