Albert Svensen (1889-1959) Born in Vejle 1889. Son of the musicians Niels and Jensigne Svensen. Educated at the Royal art Academy in 1913. Pupil of Viggo Johansen and Rostrup Bojesen until 1917. Svendsen taught drawing and croquet at the Herlufsholm from 1925 and later worked for the military during the 1950ties. Svensen worked and traveled in Italy from 1920. Vienna from 1929 and in Dresden, Germany during the 1930ties. Svensen is known for his series of bright colorful landscapes from the area around Karrebaek Fjord and the surrounding farm landscapes. Svensen was deeply connected to the southern part of Jutland and returned there to paint every summer. Svensen debuted at Charlottenborg in 1917 and was exhibited there every year until his death in 1959. Other exhibitions include: The Aarhus hallen 1936, Gallery Anton Hansen 1918, Gallery Oscar Kiertzner 1921 and 1925. Gallery Christensen 1955.
