Description: TL;DR: Both figures are in excellent condition complete with all accessories in their original art boxes. Most accessories were removed from the boxes for inspection purposes only. The only exception is the top-heavy metal Eagle which came with Legionary Titus, as the square plastic plate which it screws onto came unglued from the rest of the staff after around a week of having displayed pointed forward. It will stay in place if held more or less upright, but will need to be re-glued (probably with something strong like super glue or liquid cement) if you want to display it pointed at a forward, horizontal, or downward-facing angle (see pics 17 and 18). Up for sale is: A pair of opened but excellent condition ACI Toys Warriors - Total Rome series 1:6 scale action figures of Roman Republic soldiers: Legionary Titus and Centurion Lucius of the Legio XIII Gemina aka the 13th Legion. The pair are clearly derived from Legionary Titus Pullo and First Spear Centurion Lucius Vorenus, the two lead characters of HBO's "Rome" series. That said, while the names, ranks, armor, and accessories closely match that of the characters in the TV series, these are not licensed HBO or Rome products and therefore the character portraits bear only generalized and superficial resemblances to the on-screen characters such as "Titus" being on a taller body with a clean shaven head and "Lucius" having wavy dark blonde hair. * Although the portraits themselves were seemingly designed as to not have much of a likeness to Ray Stevenson or Kevin McKidd (maybe their stunt doubles), their clothing, armor , and accessories (especially the Eagle) were clearly designed to match the costumes and props seen in the HBO series, particularly the premiere episode. Legionary Titus stands over 12 inches tall and uses a modified version of ACI's "Andrew" muscular body with added height in the legs and painted scarring effects on the arms and legs, over 30 points of articulation, and comes with a total of four pairs of swap-out hands. Titus comes wearing a tunic and Braccae (rolled knee-length trousers) underneath a chain-mail hauberk made from thin plastic which is both flexible and perforated to produce a superbly lightweight and simulation of armor in 1:6 scale. In addition, Titus wears a Focale (scarf), bracers / wrist guards, a Balteus (wait belt), and marching sandals. Also included, but not on the figure in-package, are a red cloak and a Roman Gallic-style helmet made from actual metal. All clothing and armor pieces have detailed weathering effects to give them an appearance befitting that of a veteran of Caesar's wars. Legionary Titus is armed with a Roman Gladius short sword, a Pugio dagger, and a large Scutum curved rectangular scutum shield. The blades of both the Gladius and Pugio are metal, and both also include detailed scabbards. Finally, Titus includes a legionary eagle Signum. The eagle piece is solid metal, but everything else is plastic. **NOTE** the eagle is screwed into a two-part plastic base which plugs into the top of the staff. The square flat top of this base (which the metal eagle is screwed on to) has become unglued from the lower portion which plugs into the staff. Nothing is broken and the tabs which help secure the top plate to the lower piece are intact. See pics 17 and 18. These tabs and gravity ought to be sufficient to hold the eagle in place if it is posed upright, but as the eagle is heavy solid metal you will want to re-glue it yourself if you want to replicate poses in which it is being pointed forward at a significant angle and certainly if you want a lowered downward-facing pose. Centurion Lucius stands at 11.8 inches tall and uses ACI's "Christian" medium-build body with added scarring effects on the arms and legs, over 30 points of articulation, and comes with a total of four pairs of swap-out hands. As with Titus, clothing consists of a tunic and braccae (rolled knee-length trousers) underneath a chain-mail hauberk made from thin plastic which is both flexible and perforated to produce a superbly lightweight and simulation of armor in 1:6 scale. The base outfit / armor is nearly identical to that used with Legionary Titus but adds several ornate gold / bronze colored Phalerae sculpted disks as befitting his rank and status as a veteran centurion of Caesar's campaigns in Gaul. Lucius wears a Focale (scarf), bracers / wrist guards (made to appear metallic bronze vs. the studded leather ones on Titus), a centurion's Singulum (waist belt), and marching sandals. Also included, but not on the figure in-package, are a red cloak and a Roman Centurion's Montefortine Type "C" helmet (with a horizontal crest) made from actual metal. All clothing and armor pieces have detailed weathering effects to give them an appearance befitting that of a veteran of Caesar's wars. Centurion Lucius is armed with a Roman Gladius short sword, a Pugio dagger, and a large Scutum curved oval scutum shield. The blades of both the Gladius and Pugio are metal, and both also include scabbardswith embossed details. Both figures were removed from their boxes after they were purchased from an online retailer in 2015 and displayed in a glass case for a roughly two months. They were then re-boxed and stored with care in an air-conditioned room until January 2024, when the pics shown in this listing were taken. With the exception of the Eagle that came with Titus, most of the the weapons and accessories were never placed on the figures and have all remained in their trays. No Stands were included with these figures, but you will not need them unless you plan to display them in an extreme action pose. The figures, accessories, and art boxes pictured in the listing are the same exact ones which you will receive. Welcome and thank you for checking out one of our listings.
