Hardcover with its original, First State, price-clipped dust jacket. Once again, the dust jacket is price-clipped. Published by Coward-McCann: New York, 1968. Boldly SIGNED on the title page by the celebrated author! NOT inscribed to anyone, simply SIGNED by the late, great John Le Carre! A TRUE First American Edition/First Printing/First State with ALL First Edition Points present! Principal among them, "First American Edition 1968" is clearly stated on the copyright page. Please remember this is the First AMERICAN Edition. This is NOT the U.K. First Edition. This rare treasure has some very clearly visible wear/age, but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The wear, however, should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and other than a previous owner signature written on the first, blank page, has no internal writing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is holding tight. All of the pages are present and fully attached. Some general/shelf wear along with creases/marks/scuffing/wear to the spine/corners/boards, marks/discoloration/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/marks/discoloration/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the wear to the spine/corners/boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges and on the spine, and the wear that is present on the pages, particularly noticeable on certain pages. All of the wear previously mentioned is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. While all of the pages are present and attached, one can clearly see some space/separation along both the top and bottom edges. The wear to the spine has resulted in a large indentation and a very noticeable altering of the shape/cloth of the spine. As mentioned before, there is some internal writing! There is a previous owner name, written in pen, and located on the first, blank page. The original, First State dust jacket is price-clipped, otherwise fully intact. Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, marks and rips resulting in some loss of paper. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners, on both the front and rear inside jacket flaps and near/along the edges! The wear is considerable and very clearly visible! All of the wear should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear to both the book and especially the dust jacket is VERY clearly visible! The wear to the dust jacket is considerable! All of the wear, particularly to the dust jacket, should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection. Please closely and carefully view ALL the pictures for further clarification!! Payment must be received within three days or the book will be re-listed. Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions. We are very proud of our 100% positive feedback/ranking and offer an easy, no questions asked return policy so you can buy with confidence! Thank you!!
