Description: A PHOTOGRAPHIC RECORD OF THE MOUNT SHISHA PANGMA SCIENTIFIC EXPEDITION. Editor noted, but not named. Science Press, Peking, 1966. The text is in English. Large hardcover, unpaginated. Illustrated primarily in black-and-white. BOOK condition: Good. There are some old, light yellow water stains on the fore-edge side of both boards, and on the fore-edges of the front and rear pictorial endpapers and pastedowns. However, there's no waviness or rippling to the cloth boards, making the stains much less obtrusive. There are some bumps along the board edges, including a bump and small indentation along the top edge of the front board. There's also a bump to the fore-edge of the text block, causing a small indentation/crease to the affected pages. There's a yellow "shadow" from a removed price sticker on the front pictorial endpaper. The pages are otherwise clean, firmly bound and unmarked. DUST JACKET condition: Good. The rather tattered jacket has soiling, scuffing, indentations and creases (it's a little difficult to see in the pictures). There's also edge-wear of numerous tears, scuffs, chips and creases, especially at or near the head of the jacket spine, where there's a two inch tear and other wear. This scarce book gives a pictorial record of an important 1960's Chinese scientific expedition to the Tibetan Plateau.
