Double tied knots upon two foundation layers for durability, finely and durably knotted about 200 knots per square inch per layer. Millions of individually hand tied knots. Dyes oxidize over the century giving nuanced lighter and darker reds and blues as seen in images, a beautiful effect called 'abrash' by curators and collectors.
