Description: 2" 50mm Germanium Infra Red Detector Window - with AR Coating. Used for laser, IR, LWIR, Thermal Imaging. New - old stock – with a wavelength range of 8-12um Germanium is often used as a substrate for IR (thermal imaging) optics, filters, windows, and mirrors. It is also used for infrared long-pass filters as it naturally blocks the UV and visible wavelengths. It is a semiconducting material and therefore has an abrupt cut-on (intrinsic edge) at 1.7µm. Used for MIR and LWIR. This Detector lens is new from old stock. Diameter 2" 50.4mm and 1'4" thick. Comes from unknown supplier with P/N: CRL 70-679B. This item come from a closure auction of an US Space/Military research company specializing in MIR and LWIR (Participator in the moon rover development (Spirit)). The Window is new but from old stock. What you receive is what is shown in the pictures except the Caliber does not come with the lense! If it’s not in the pictures, it’s not included.
