Description: This alloy was prepared from Plumbers Lead and Pewter. Source Metals Preparation: · The Plumber’s Lead was combined, melted fluxed sampled and XRF analyzed to check purity. · The Pewter was melted, fluxed, cleaned sampled and XRF analyzed. · Based on the analyses of each of these source metals the required amount of each metal was weighed and combined into a single lot for melting. Each lot was melted fluxed and cast into the ingots shown in the photos. · The target analysis was 95.25 % Pb and 4.75% Sn. (20 parts Pb, 1 part Sn) I have used this alloy in casting and have found it produces high quality castings with a BHN of 10. Alloy will be shipped via USPS medium flat rate box.
