You can cut them with scissors to make several smaller pads if needed for your craft making purposes. The pads are color-coded to indicate 9 different grits, 1500, 1800, 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000, 12000. Start by sanding a surface to 180-300 or higher grit using sand paper and then use these pads to remove scratches and improve the smoothness of the surface, moving from the 1500 grit pad through all the grits to 12000, producing an ever more polished surface.
