This card is from one of the finest sets manufactured by The Card Memorabilia Associates, Limited (TCMA) over its nearly two decades of producing contemporary, commemorative and reprint baseball card sets. Styled after the classic 1953 Bowman baseball card set, this card features a full-color photograph on the front and a nice balance of player vital and baseball statistics plus biographical information on the back. About the players: "The heart of one of the hardest-hitting teams in baseball history, Duke Snider, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges and Carl Furillo led the Dodgers to pennants in 1952-53-55-56. Campanella, a .276 lifetime hitter with 242 career homers, was elected to the Hall of Fame, while a strong case is being made for *Snider and Hodges. And Furillo owns a .299 lifetime average, including a league-leading .344 in 1953. Snider hit .295 lifetime with 407 homers while Hodges belted 370 homers with a .273 lifetime average." *Duke Snider was, subsequent to the issuance of this card (1980), elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Hodges came close on several occasions but The Reading Rifle never garnered even 2% of the BBWAA vote despite impressive offensive and defensive numbers!
