Description: Charles "Teenie" Harris was a Pittsburgh born photojournalist who captured every day life in the black neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. He had his own studio and also worked for the Pittsburgh Courier. His photographs truly bring focus on life and the happenings as they were back in the day. The Carnegie Museum Of Art has an archive of his photos which is where we our consignor says these originally came from. Offered here are 4 black and white silver gelatin 11 x 14 photos taken by Harris at various crime sites. You will find a touch of wear along the edges and in the corners of each photo but nothing that diminishes the beauty or integrity of the photograph. These were all made from the original negatives. The depth and quality of each photo is amazing, leaving you with the feel that you were actually there. To honor the auction process I will not end an auction early, I think this is the only way to make things fair for all bidders. For a variety of reasons, I also do not offer local pick up. We are leaving our shipping options open for this item although we plan to use either FedEx or USPS. Our goal is to select the service that we expect will provide the safest delivery choice depending on the final destination. Thank you for stopping by.
