Moore Jr. (born April 14, 1997) is an American football wide receiver for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Maryland, and was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Moore was traded to the Bears in March 2023. On March 10, 2023, the Panthers agreed to trade Moore and the ninth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, as well as several other draft picks, to the Chicago Bears in exchange for the first overall pick, which the Panthers used to select Bryce Young. The trade was made official when the league calendar year began on March 15. Moore left the Panthers ranked fourth in franchise history with 5,201 receiving yards. On September 24, during Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Moore recorded 3 receptions for 41 yards and 1 touchdown, his first of the year, during the 10–41 loss. On October 5, in Week 5 against the Washington Commanders, Moore recorded eight catches for 230 yards and three touchdowns in a Bears victory, with a final score of 40–20. His three touchdowns were a single game career-high. His 230 yards is also a career-high and the second-most receiving yards for a Bear in a single regular-season game in their franchise history. In Week 12, Moore surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in a season for the 4th time in his career in a road victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. . In the National Football League, the team captain designation is a team-appointed position that designates certain players as leaders on and off the field. The captains program was implemented by the NFL Player Advisory Council established by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in conjunction with the NFL Players Association. Starting in 2007, the league began permitting teams to name up to six players as captains. Players who have been named a team captain typically have a "C" patch on their jerseys. There is a standard design used by all teams participating in the captaincy program. The patches are in team colors and are worn on the front left or right breast (depending on other patches, etc. worn by the specific team). The number of stars filled in on the patch represents the number of consecutive years that player has been named captain by that team. If they've been named captain for longer than four years, the "C" on the patch is gold. Some teams (i.e. Baltimore and New England) do not have this patch on their jerseys but still designate captains. The New York Jets have not designated team captains since an incident involving Santonio Holmes in a 2011 game. In the 4th quarter of the final game of the 2011 season against the Miami Dolphins, Holmes appeared to get into an argument with Jets offensive tackle Wayne Hunter while the team was huddling. As a result of the argument, Holmes was benched for the remainder of the game, and the Jets ended up losing the game, which resulted in the Jets missing the postseason for the first time in 3 years. His leadership qualities and credibility as a captain have since been questioned. During special recognitions, the patch may be a different color; e.g., pink for breast cancer awareness; or camouflage for military service recognition. Because of the nature of the game, most teams include their starting quarterbacks as Offensive Captain. The 2022 NFL season is the 103rd season of the National Football League (NFL). The season began on September 8, 2022, with the defending Super Bowl LVI champion Los Angeles Rams hosting Buffalo in the NFL Kickoff Game, and end on January 8, 2023. The playoffs are scheduled to start on January 14 and will conclude with Super Bowl LVII, the league's championship game, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12.[1] The former Washington Redskins, after two seasons of using the placeholder name Washington Football Team, were renamed as the Washington Commanders prior to the start of the season.
