Description: The monograph is devoted to the publication and analysis of materials from excavations of the Scythian royal Alexandropol mound of the 4th century. BC at the village Petrikovka, Solonyansky district, Dnepropetrovsk region, one of the leading funerary monuments of the highest Scythian nobility of the royal level of steppe Scythia.The mound was excavated by A.V. Tereshchenko and A.E. Lyutsenko in 1852-1856. and further explored by the Scythian Steppe Archaeological Expedition of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under the leadership of S.V. Polina in 2004-2009 Until now, the only source of information remained short publications by I.E. Zabelin 1866 and Y. Lazarevsky 1894. Complete information about the excavations of the Scythian royal Alexandropol mound in 1852-1856 and 2004-2009 is introduced into scientific circulation. A complete detailed description of the excavations of the mound in 1852-1856 is given. and the objects studied in it based on the files of the Imperial Archaeological Commission stored in the Manuscript Archive of the IHMC RAS in St. Petersburg,description and comparative analysis of finds, as well as repeated excavations of the mound in 2004-2009. Based on modern developments, the Alexandropol mound dates back to 330-300. BC, according to the chronology of A.Yu. Alekseeva, or 340-330 gt. BC based on developments by S.V. Pauline.
