They don't hand out 10s easily at all. We cannot begin to tell you how many cards we have submitted to BGS which appeared FLAWLESS, only to have it come back as a 9.5 or even 9.0 (and you cannot dispute a card grade with BGS). Getting a BGS Black Label is like hitting the lottery...and getting a BGS 10 is like hitting a high-dollar scratcher. It is SUPER DIFFICULT to get BGS to issue a 10. **PSA hands out 10s like candy, do an eBay search for yourself. They'll give PSA 10s to cards which are ridiculously off-centered, and cards which have terrible edges....this is just stuff visible to the naked eye. PSA graders are suspect graders. We see so many PSA 10s which have NO BUSINESS whatsoever being graded as such, but it is what it is. ***BGS makes submitting to them terrifying. We have come to expect 9.5s or 9.0s (we won't submit a card which is noticeably off-centered or has poor edges/corners), so we almost never receive anything lower than 9.0, but it is still incredibly defeating to submit cards which appear FLAWLESS, only to receive 9.5s or 9.0s. Getting a BGS 10 is INCREDIBLE. ****In the 150+ or so we have submitted to BGS, we have received ONE Black Label, ONE. And again, we don't submit cards which have any noticeable flaws (centering, corners, edges).
