Book Two by Ron Goulart (signed) Cover and Frontispiece by Josh Kirby (signed letter) DAW Books First Edition DAW Book Number 399 Description: Mass market paperback published by DAW Books in 1980. The copyright page states 'First Printing, August 1980', and the printing status bar is complete, making this a first printing. The back cover states 'A DAW Books Original'. Inscribed 'Best' by the author on the title page without personalization. A letter dated 28 February 2000 signed Josh from artist Josh Kirby on his letterhead, confirming an appointment for me to drop by later that year to get books signed, with the original envelope. From the back cover: His name was Adolph Hibbler, and he had escaped the doom of Hitler's Reich by inventing the cryogenic deep freeze long before the rest of the world. As a human icicle he had been just a circus sideshow for many decades until he finally thawed out - in the 21st century. The trouble began with a series of mysterious events and the government had to call in Odd Jobs, Inc. But when Jake and Hildy Pace started uncovering the clues they found an odder job than any previous capers. There were the lost cassettes of the world's greatest sex fiend to locate. There were model airplanes that fired real bullets. There was the army of baby-doll killers. And there were the revolutionary gas station attendants and the Arabian shiek who had ignited them. Only Odd Jobs, Inc. could have connected all these cockeyed clues and come up with Hibbler. When the did it sure looked as if they - and the world - were on a spinoff orbit int infinite disaster! Condition: Binding - very good, minor edgewear, slight soiling, front cover hinge crease along the spine, no spine reading creases. corners slightly bumped, insides of covers brown around the edges, pages a little tanned. Dust Jacket - none, as issued. Letter - very good, fold marks from being put into an envelope for mailing, upper right corner got a little wet with minor smearing of the date and bleed through to the other side.
