Description: This is a really charming assembled pair of American primitive plank bottom side chairs. The chairs feature solid wood construction, a straight top rail, tapered square stiles, 4 thin spindles, plank seat perched on 4 splayed legs supported by a box stretcher. Hand painted floral swags adorn the chairs' top rails, stiles and plank seats. Both chairs sport their original chippy paint finish, but one chair is black, while the other is a very dark green. The chairs are in good antique condition with a timeworn patina. Both chairs are very sturdy, but there is some paint loss throughout. Please see photos for more details.
