Description: 1983 Louisiana State Fair Poster by George Rodrigue. This piece was created one year prior to George Rodrigue’s famous Blue Dog. Commissioned for the official poster of the Baton Rouge State Fair in 1983, the poster displays a unique take on clowns, elephants and the big top all while featuring George Rodrigue’s famous oak tree. This limited edition is numbered 1451 out of 1500 and personally signed by George Rodrigue. Although 1500 were made, this is the first I’ve seen and have not been able to find a match on the internet, thus the “rare” reference. All photos show a frame for effect but the piece will be shipped unframed and rolled in a tube.
