Description: The program is in excellent condition with very little in the way of flaws. It covers the entire speedweeks at the Speedway. The lineup is near perfect and was nested in the program. Please review the pictures as part of the item description, specifically the condition and content. It was a sunny day, so excuse the glare. The 1971 Daytona 500 was held at Daytona International Speedway on February 14th. Leading the field to green in the #21 Wood Brothers Mercury was A.J. Foyt with a speed of 182.744 mph. Over 80,000 people attended the race. The race was very competitive, with over 40 lead changes. Foyt ran out of gas with 39 laps to go and lost a lap. Although he was able to get his lap back and was the fastest car on the track, he ran out of time. Richard Petty beat his teammate, Buddy Baker, by ten seconds for the 120th win of his career. Foyt came in third with David Pearson and Fred Lorenzen rounding out the top five. Please review the other racing items I have listed at the eBay store, The Checkered Past. I will combine shipping and provide a refund on shipping charges for anything over cost. Thanks!
