Description: 1960 Menu - SS Statendam - Holland America Line - March 27 - ocean liner ship Click images to enlarge Description For auction is a Dinner Menu from the SS Statendam IV, a cruise ship that was operated by Holland America Line. Launched in 1954, it sailed under both Holland America and Regency Cruises until 1995; Regency renamed her the SS Regent Star. In its day the ship was one of the most luxurious ocean liners on the seas. It was scrapped in India in 2004. Another ship bearing the name SS Statendam V is currently in Pacific Coast service. The menu is dated Sunday, March 27, 1960, and is for a cruise to Panama. Featured were hor's d'oeuvres, soup, fish, entrees, vegetables, cold meats, chateaubriand, tenderloin steak, lamb chops, calf's liver and bacon, salad, cheese, bread, dessert and a beverage. The rendering on the cover shows typical scenes in Panama. The menu, which measures appx 11 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches closed and which opens to appx 16 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches, is printed on medium-weight cardstock. While used, the menu is in very good condition -- with no rips or tears; the only writing/marking is at the right-bottom of the back cover, as seen in the last image above. A nice collectible for the steamship or menu collector. Pictures sell! Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing.300+ Listing Templates! Auctiva gets you noticed!
