Note there is a functioning lock, but no key. I was able to open simply with a small screwdriver. All pages are totally intact, binding is in very good condition. It appears that there is some type of daily entry almost every day of the five year span. It mainly discusses weather, daily life, travels with and without "My Lady Friend", mentioned frequently. This leather bound diary is definitely an enjoyable browse and read, makes a great piece of historical decor, too.
