Description: I believe this hat to date to the 1940's. It has a very Victorian look to it like the Victorian picture hats from an earlier 1900’s time period. It is a woven cartwheel hat in a shade of gray with just a hint of lavender. This style became popular again in the 1940's where it complimented the straighter silhouette of clothing from that time period. This vintage hat has beautiful details with silk roses and velvet ribbon. There is a little crushing to the silk flowers and a short segment of fine mesh tape band could use a few stitches where it has become undone. This has all been photographed. The hat is a size 22. The outside overall diameter of the brim of the hat is 16". There is a Marche Exclusive label sewn inside the headband. This antique cartwheel hat is a gorgeous and very stylish creation that I suppose could be worn anywhere, but I picture it being worn at the Kentucky Derby!
