Description: This is my grandmother's 1931 The Desert which is the University of Arizona's year book or annual. There are a few signatures here and there and some "fake" signatures from two movie stars (see above) that are reproduced in all copies of the 1931 yearbook. As with all annuals, there are section dividers, but these are gorgeous pictures of native life in Arizona. Each opposing page has a cutout for the section information and name (see photo above). The end of the book is a treasure trove of vintage advertising. In between the ads are a thorough lampooning of each fraternity and sorority on campus. The accounts are funny to read, even if one does not know the people or group being lampooned. While I didn't go through the book page by page, I did go through it thoroughly and believe I have a photograph of every page with writing on it above. One page is turned to the sorority to which my grandmother is pledged. If the buyer is interested, I will share her name with them so that they can see the person to whom the book originally belonged.
