Description: 1928-S Standing Liberty Quarter Graded NGC Mint State 67 With Possible Inverted (upside down) Mintmark. In studying this coin more closely, it looks like it very well could feature the inverted "S" mintmark variety as top serif that is seen on this SLQ toward the top is usually found on the bottom side of the mintmark. Please look at the many attached photos with this listing so you can make your own opinion and determination. The 1928-S Standing Liberty Quarter with the Inverted Mintmark variety is included in the Cherrypickers' Guide 6th Edition Volume 2 on page 161, and is indexed as FS-25-1928S-501. Two of the attached photos above are from that page in the Cherrypickers' Guide. As noted on the NGC website, as of this writing, the current market value for a "normal" example of a 1928-S SLQ graded MS67 (not with a full head designation) is $2400.00. On the PCGS website, as of this writing, the current market value for a "normal" example of a 1928-S SLQ graded MS67 (not with a full head designation) is $3150.00. Of course, if this 1928-S SLQ available here does indeed feature the inverted mintmark variety, I would think the market value for this variety in this lofty grade would go up substantially.
