Description: A nice copy of the first edition published by Doubleday, Doran and Co. in 1928. Black cloth over boards. Lettering on spine faded. This is an epic poem inspired by the Civil War and it's beginnings. The same author wrote The Red Badge of Courage and he was there. Light darkening of paper near edges and inside the covers. Inscribed on the first page, no other marks. Light edge wear and to top and bottom of spine. No DJ. Light soiling and wear to edge of text block. 377 pages. 6 3/4" x 8 3/8" Note that I have an older biography of John Brown listed. Buyer pays cost of Media Mail. International buyers welcome at cost.
