Denotes Jazz Clubs & Saloons : Eloise Blackenstein’s (Abadie’s Cafe), Frenchman’s Cafe, Dago Tony’s, Tuxedo (Dance Hall), Gypsy Schaffer’s, Pete Lala’s, Billy Phillips, Globe Hall, The Pig Ankle Brothels & Madams : H. (Hilma) Burt (famed mistress to Storyville Boss Tom Anderson whose home is also marked), Mahogany Hall // Lulu White, Willie Piazza, Hattie Rogers, The Cairo, Circus House & J. (Josie) Arlington. Likely dates to the 1920s/30s, 8 x 8.75”. Impossible that this survived given the acidic content of this cheap paper. A repair was done in the 1950s to replace a missing corner bottom left w/ many other edge tears stabilized w/ archival tape.
