Description: The following is Vintage SIGNED Chicago Cubs National League player's Contract by John L. "Paddy" Driscoll (D.1968), dated January 28, 1919. Driscoll played for the Cubs in 1917 and was on the active roster in 1918 and 1919. Although his MLB career was mediocre, he is well known as an NFL legend and Hall of Fame member. It is also signed by Cubs secretary John Seys (D.1938) and Manager Fred Mitchell (D.1970) . Items pertaining to this early era are very scarce. I recently purchased a grouping of these contracts through Robert Edwards Auction House. Most are in incredible condition, not having seen daylight for around 100 years.... since they were signed. I have been an avid baseball autograph collector since 1985 and have amassed many duplicates over the years, I have decided to part with some of them to clear our space for new acquisitions.
