Many of these appointments were during the sensitive times of WWII. Exterior: Blue Cloth binding is clean and tight, with some spine slant. Gilt text and design on the spine. Gilt design front. Top page edges bright gilt. Corner and spine end wear. Bumped corners. About 9” tall. Interior: pages are clean with no tears or creasing. Gutter cracked at the tissue protected frontis. Lincoln and Margaret MacVeagh bookplate on front pastedown. Lincoln MacVeagh signed and dated on the front free endpaper. Copyright and first preface page have light brown spots top of pages. Handwritten numbers top of front endpapers. About 4-6 pages have some margin pencil lines. 134 b/w illustrations (I counted 4 foldout - one in color). 405 pages including index.
