They contain 880 illustrations and 25 colored plates of various indigenous people and first hand accounts of interactions and stories relayed from travels around the world at the end of the last century by several different people who helped put together this historical work. Containing well over 1200 pages (368 & 768 pgs) between the 2 volumes, these large (11" x 9") hardcover books have half red Morocco binding over red cloth boards with gilding to the spine. The bindings are firm with no issues and all everything is intact. Pages are bright and clean, and free from writing, rips, tears or damage. The covers show some wear and discoloration and Volume 1 has some fading to the spine, but overall this is a nice solid attractive set of a fascinating set of books! BOOKENDS NOT INCLUDED!
