1893 LION Coffee SONGS OF ALL NATIONS Premium ALBUM Mail Away STUNNING! Toledo

Description: This Fantastic Coffee Premium Album was issued by the Woolson Spice Co of Toledo Ohio. during 1893. According to one of the inside pages you could obtain the album in exchange for 15 of the “Lion Heads” cut fro the Lion Coffee wrappers (and two cents in stamps for postage). It also states the offer expires Jan 1st 1894. The beautiful lithography was done by the George S Harris & Sons Co. of New York & Philadelphia. Harris is best know for doing the lithography for many of the big Tobacco Card sets from Allen & Ginter, Duke Cigarettes, Buchner and many others. Each Song page features lyrics and a scene representative to the particular nation pictured. It features the STAR SPANGLED BANNER (USA) , GOD SAVE THE QUEEN (ENGLAND), THE WATCH ON THE RHINE (Germany), , THE MARSEILLES HYMN (France) , GARIBALDI HYMN (Italy) , GOD SAVE KAISER FRANZ (Austria), BLUE BELLS OF SCOTLAND, THE HARP THAT ONCE THO TARAS HALLS (Ireland) , SWEDISH NATIONAL HYMN, RUSSIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM It measures 7 ½ inches by 5 ¼ inches approximately. It does have some corner creases to the front and back cover pages, and some creases along the binding string area. The interior pages do have some very small spots of print chipping, but considering it is over 130 years old it is in fantastic condition. The colors are very bright and glossy , and the pages are all in tact with no tearing (even at the binding holes. Even the original binding string is in nice condition. I cant imagine many of these survived over the years (think 2 World War Paper drives), and I doubt any that did, did so in such nice condition as this one. In a world where the word RARE is often over used I believe that this time is truly is warranted.
