Description: 1874 Samuel Augustus Mitchell antique map of Colorado, Wyoming, Dakota, Montana & Nebraska then New Mexico & Arizona and Washington, Oregon & Idaho on the verso, rare Ziegler & McCurdy edition. Description: A beautiful and colorful map from the Mitchell New General Atlas, published in 1874 by Ziegler & McCurdy of Philadelphia, the map was originally entered in to Congress in 1874. This map has nice original coloring & itself is set within a separately engraved and ornate border, which is unique to only this Ziegler & McCurdy edition - would look tremendous framed! The map could also be split into 2 separate maps along the center fold, to create a map of New Mexico & Arizona and then a map of Washington, Oregon & Idaho. A curious misspelling is in the body of the map, instead of Dakota across the state, it is written as "Dekota". Condition: Overall, very good condition. Just some minor staining & minor toning (exactly as pictured!). Dimensions of Map (including margins): ~15.2" Wide~23.7" Tall Shipping: USPS & fully insured.
