Corners worn to boards. Front and rear hinges are solid. Internally, a period pencil gift inscription to second blank. Some foxing. Contents are clean. Frontis portrait, Surrender at Vicksburg plate, and maps are present. This copy does not have the plate of Grant's father and mother. Overall a good copy.
