Description: 1851 The Life & Work of John Adams Volume V with A Life of the Author, notes and illustrations, by His Grandson Charles Francis Adams, published by Charles Little & James Brown, Boston. Poor to fair overall antique condition owing to the state of the cover which is missing most of its spine; boards are fairly scuffed and show wear to edges and corners (particularly on bottom). Ex-libris, several markings on flyleaf page from previous owning institution as well as book seller markings. Foxing/discoloration looks to be mostly concentrated in early/late pages; heavy staining from the engraving has left ghost images on several pages on either side. A few notes were spotted here and there in pencil.
