Bound in half-leather over marbled boards, the covers are worn and the leather chipped. A piece of the backstrip is lost and another part is dangling. The rear cover is nearly detached and the front hinge cracked. The contents are foxed and stained; a few leaves are trimmed too close to the text with some loss. A rare and important reference on the first national election won by a member of the Whig Party.
